The Challenge

How to we take existing science labs and enhance them to allow students the creative ability to experiment?

The Solution

Created an addition with flexible lab spaces; providing students and instructors with “maker space” environments that support out-of-the-box ideas and hypotheses.

Elizabeth Rath
Biology Student

"Seeing that we have updated labs is amazing because it will give us so many opportunities to expand our education and be the top of the class against other schools."

Built for dynamic use and flexibility

Lecture halls have whiteboard-painted walls and personal dry-erase boards on each desk.

Power outlets fall from the ceiling for easy access in some classrooms.

Tables and desks have wheels so they can be moved and rearranged.

Classroom tabletops in the fourth-floor geospatial lab have pop-up monitors where students can screen videos or display work.
