Kyle Fountain

Architect

Kyle launched his architectural career in Chicago, working on mixed-use multifamily high-rise projects nationwide, including his dream contribution to the "Wrigleyville Skyline." He then pursued a Master of Architecture at Southern Illinois University, expanding his portfolio with mid-rise projects in Montana, Florida, and Denver.

After starting a family, Kyle returned to central Illinois, where joining BLDD in 2019 was a natural choice given his longtime admiration for the firm. Since then, he has enjoyed broadening his expertise across various building types, including K-12 and higher education, as well as healthcare.

Get To Know Me
What makes BLDD different?
I've never had the luxury of working in an office with interior design AND structural engineering teams, not to mention terrific project administrators. Having those teams within the same company has allowed for seamless collaboration and added support for each project I've been a part of at BLDD.
What do you wish you could spend more time on?
It's a tie between woodworking and guitar playing. Uncoincidentally, I'd love to some day combine the two into luthiery.
If you had to sing one song for karaoke, what would it be?
I usually pick the same song to avoid embarrassment - "Say It Aint So" by Weezer. Although, inevitably, I still lose my voice somewhere around the second chorus.
