The facility, located near Illinois State University and uptown Normal, replaces one of the community's outdated stations, and was designed to keep response times to the absolute minimum. In addition to the centralized location, the station design includes bi-parting apparatus bay doors, the latest CAD (computer aided dispatch) technology, and an iconic fire pole that all help reduce call response times.
