Nestled in the residential hills of Moline, IL, on the former site of Lutheran Hospital, Overlook Village retirement community boasts spectacular views of the city’s charming downtown and the Mississippi River. The four-story, 138-unit campus offers Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care. Residents can enjoy all the amenities of home and beyond, including a fitness center, salon, recreation room, underground parking, dining rooms and a coffee/ice cream shop.
In addition to the stunning exterior and ample amenities, the interior features “modern farmhouse” design, including historic photographs from Moline. Light and relaxed, this style incorporates vintage designs in a modern way.
The new spaces provide unique aesthetics, 125 seats designed into multiple seating options, and partial wait service with the flexibility to convert to full service in the future. Convenient beer and wine beverage service is provided, along with the option to convert a portion of the Pub into a full bar.
Overlook Village Executive Director Becky Lee Hinton notes that the facility’s welcoming decor and interior design help the residents feel more at home.
Resident Jim Falline was the first to move to Overlook Village in June 2018. “I was born on this site 91 years ago when it was a hospital,” he says. “Returning to be part of the Overlook Village community feels like coming home.”

Faced with dated environments that were not serving a range of the residents' needs, Evenglow needed direction for creating the best home for their assisted living and independent living residents. Their existing seven-story Lodge building was occupied and would be difficult to renovate without going over budget and disrupting residents.
The project consists of interior remodeling of common spaces including dining, serving, activity, office, support, corridor and living spaces. The project also includes the relocation of the main entrance which includes a new vestibule addition.
The Three Crowns Park dining room project, completed in 2024, transformed a formal dining room and bistro into a vibrant space. The design team faced a unique challenge: how to create an exciting, contemporary atmosphere while maintaining excellent acoustics—particularly tricky after removing sound-absorbing elements like carpeting and tablecloths.
