About the Scholarship:

BLDD Architects is searching for students to recognize for their potential in contributing to the world of architecture, interior design or graphic design.

 

Scholarship Awards:

  • up to $1,500 in scholarships

  • up to $1,000 "Best In Show" awarded to best overall application

  • up to $500 Principals' Purchase Award

Scholarship Requirements:

  • The student applying must be a current high school senior at a BLDD school client in good standing. 

  • The student must have a minimum 2.5/4.0 or 3.5/5.0 GPA. 

  • The student must be in the top 40% of their class rank. 

  • The student must have earned high school credit in 2D/3D art, graphic design, interior design or drafting. 

  • The student must have been accepted into a university, college or certificate program in a field directly related to architecture, interior design or graphic design. 

 

Application Requirements:

  • Submit an original drawing, sketch, photograph or video that represents the theme: Because Life Deserves Design. 

  • Submit an artist’s statement that explains how your original artwork represents the theme. 

  • Submit an official copy of your high school transcripts. 

  • Submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher or supervisor.

  • Submit a copy of your acceptance letter from your intended university, college or certificate program of choice showing intentions of pursuing architecture, interior design or graphic design.

Application Deadline:

2026 applications open February 1st. Submit your application by filling out the form below or mailing materials to BLDD Architects, Because Life Deserves Design Scholarship, 100 N. Merchant St., Decatur, IL 62523.
The deadline to submit applications is March 16, 2026.

Scholarship Recipients:

Recipients of the Because Life Deserves Design Scholarship agree to have their name, high school and their original drawing, sketch, photograph or video shared on the BLDD website, social media accounts and in a news release.

School Districts:

Scholarship funds will be awarded to the District and we request that the funds be distributed to the students through the District's foundation or scholarship program.
