Shared amenities for both middle and high school students were created in a transitional zone that houses food service, arts programs, career education and athletics. This arrangement resulted in both middle and high school programs’ ability to increase course offerings despite limited resources.
The Community Engagement Planning Process with Meridian CUSD #15 resulted in a clear direction, to reduce the number of campuses from four to two and concentrate resources to make these remaining two campuses healthy, safe, and educationally relevant.
The solution called for building a multi-story high school addition to replace the high school and renovating the current high school facility to house the middle school.

Just over 10 years ago, prior to working with BLDD, the district sought a referendum. Community engagement was minimal and the community did not approve the plan. Utilizing BLDD’s planning process with QLEO in 2024, the community engagement was successful and the referendum passed 70/30 overall.
Through a $100 million bond referendum, the Edwardsville School District can provide 21st century learning environments throughout their facilities.
A competition gym addition, with secure entry and office suite, increases health and wellness opportunities for students and staff, while addressing the district-wide space shortage for student activities. The addition serves as a new front door for visitors, creating a positive first impression for Heyworth CUSD #4.
